Welcome back to school!

Welcome back to school letter from Superintendent Matthew Everett
The school does so much for us and it's our turn to help ourselves. The Varsity Football players will be hosting a Lift-A-Thon on Friday, Aug 8th after school. Each player wears more than $1000.00 worth of equipment every day, and we want to continue to have the best available for our kids. Please take the time to read the document and have one filled out for your athlete. Try to have them turned in to Coach Frost, Coach Lumpkin, or Coach Zilla by 7/31. If you need an extra day or so, please let me know. Many of the boys present today already have one in hand. If there are any questions, don't hesitate to contact me any time.

LC Community-

On behalf of everyone at LCISD, I want to express how deeply saddened we are by the recent flooding that has devastated parts of Central Texas, especially Kerr County. Our hearts go out to every family facing loss and uncertainty in this difficult time.

This tragedy brings into focus how fragile and precious life truly is. In an instant, routines can be upended, and our greatest concern becomes ensuring the safety of our children and loved ones

I ask every member of our community to keep these families in your prayers. Let us pray for safety and shelter for those who have been displaced, for strength and perseverance for first responders and relief workers, and for comfort and healing for everyone who has lost their homes or cherished possessions.

LC Community-

The Fourth of July commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, when the thirteen American colonies declared their freedom from British rule. It’s a day to honor our nation’s founding principles of liberty and democracy, to celebrate with family and friends, and to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy.

In observance of the Fourth of July holiday, Leverett’s Chapel ISD offices will be closed from Wednesday, July 2, through Friday, July 4. Normal office hours will resume on Monday, July 7.

Have a safe and happy Independence Day!

LC Community- You may have heard that Governor Abbott recently signed House Bill 1481 (Texas Education Code § 37.082) into law. Leverett’s Chapel ISD is fully committed to complying with this new requirement, which mandates that every district adopt a written policy banning student use of personal communication devices on campus during the school day. We are drafting our district-wide policy now, and it will take effect on the first day of school, Wednesday, August 6, 2025. Under HB 1481, “personal communication devices” means cell phones, smart-watches, tablets, radio or paging devices, or anything else that can send or receive calls or data. Starting August 6, students may not use these devices on school grounds during class hours. Exceptions apply for students who: Have an IEP or Section 504 accommodation Have a documented medical need (for example, a glucose monitor) Require a device to meet another legal or safety need District-issued devices, such as school-provided tablets, are not affected by this ban. Thank you for your support as we roll out this policy. We’ll share full details and guidelines with families and staff over the summer so everyone knows exactly what to expect come August. Go Lions!
