LC Community-
As Superintendent of Leverett's Chapel ISD, I want to thank the Ex-Students Association for their continued support of our school and students. The connection between the school and the Association means a great deal, and I want to see it grow even stronger. I encourage every graduate of Leverett's Chapel to join the Association.
Membership is important to keeping the tradition and support for our students alive. Dues are just ten dollars a year and help fund things like student activities and scholarships. This summer, the Association donated five hundred dollars to help our cheerleaders attend camp. Each year, they also award four five-hundred-dollar scholarships to graduating students, but last year, only twelve people gave to the scholarship fund. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps.
The 2025 Reunion will take place the weekend of September 26 and 27. This year, it will be earlier than usual because of the football schedule. On Friday, September 26, there will be a pep rally at 1:05, JH football and Varsity volleyball at 5:00 PM, and the varsity football game against Apple Springs at 7:00 PM.
The school museum will be open on Friday afternoon if requested and again Saturday morning from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM. On Saturday, September 27, the Gathering of Exes and the Business Meeting will take place in the school cafeteria at either 12:00 PM or 1:00 PM, depending on whether there is a golf tournament. That decision will be made by September 1. Please RSVP on the Association's Facebook page or by contacting Mr. Bubba Deason at edeasonjr@aol.com or by phone/text at 334-207-9463.
I want to thank Mr. Barry Barnett and Mr. Bubba Deason for their strong support and for including LCISD in your homecoming events. I am sharing this information on behalf of the Ex-Students Association so our community can stay informed and involved.
If you have questions or would like to RSVP for the reunion, please contact Mr. Bubba Deason at edeasonjr@aol.com or by phone/text at 334-207-9463. Mr. Barry Barnett is also available at barrybarnett063@gmail.com.
We are proud to be part of this tradition and thankful for everything the Association does to support our school. Let us keep working together to strengthen the bond between Leverett’s Chapel ISD and the Ex-Students Association.
Small school. Big dreams. Bold futures.
It’s not where you start—it’s where you’re going.

Mrs. Batie shared pictures of her fourth and fifth-grade science classes learning about Science, Safety, and Engineers in our world. These students are exploring important topics that help them understand how science connects to real life. We are proud to celebrate their work and their curiosity.
They are learning how to think like scientists and problem-solvers. This is part of our commitment to push our students to grow, explore, and lead. Their work matters. Their learning matters. And we are excited to see where it takes them next.
Go Lions!

We have completed our first full week of school, and there is already a lot to be proud of. Our staff has been working hard to give every student a strong start. Thank you for your continued support. It truly matters.
As we move into the weekend, let us keep encouraging our students to show up each day ready to grow, learn, and give their best. The work we do now sets the tone for the rest of the year.
We also want to wish good luck to our Varsity Football team as they scrimmage in Fruitvale tonight. We are also cheering on our Varsity Volleyball team as they continue to compete in the Big Sandy tournament. We are proud of both teams.
Have a great weekend.
Go Lions!
The PK class had such a fun and exciting time during the Gingerbread Scavenger Hunt today. The students were full of energy as they searched high and low for the missing Gingerbread Man. They followed clues, worked together, and did an excellent job from start to finish.
Thank you so much to Ms. Stewart and Ms. Amber for all of your help and support.
We truly appreciate everything you did to make this a special day for the PK class.
Go Lions!

Last night was a great way to start the 2025-2026 school year. Meet the Teacher was outstanding!. It is always a special time when our school and community come together to support our kiddos!.
After Meet the Teacher, the fun continued with the Meet the Lions Pep Rally. We introduced our cheerleaders, pep squad, football players, cross country runners, band members, volleyball players, and coaches. It was awesome to see so much school spirit.
Shout out to the Drumline. You brought the energy and picked up right where you left off last year!

A huge thank you to Mary Taylor and the Coach Wes McWhorter Memorial Fund for sponsoring staff lunch at Leverett’s Chapel for the ninth year in a row. Mary, we appreciate you more than words can say.
You have supported our school year after year—not just with lunch, but with gift cards for our teachers and the annual Wes McWhorter Scholarship. Over the past nine years, the memorial fund has raised almost $50,000, and every bit of it has gone right back into the LCISD community.
We are so thankful for your generosity, your heart, and your constant support. Thank you, Mary.
Coach, I miss you, buddy.

Today was truly something special.
Our entire LC staff had the opportunity to hear from Mr. Hal Bowman, and he delivered an unforgettable experience. His message was powerful, passionate, and deeply inspiring. He challenged us to reflect, refocus, and reignite our purpose as educators. By the time he finished speaking, there was not a dry eye in the room. I can say with confidence that my own eyes were not.
We are sincerely grateful to Mr. Bowman for making the trip to our small LC community and for sharing his passion and insight with our staff. His impact will be felt far beyond today. If you are not familiar with Mr. Hal Bowman, I encourage you to learn more about his work at www.halbowman.com. He is a nationally recognized educator and speaker who works with schools across the country to inspire culture-building and student-centered success.
I would also like to thank our School Board for supporting this experience and for allowing me to make the arrangements to bring in a speaker this impactful. Your support helps strengthen and grow the culture we are building together.
Please do not forget that Meet The Teacher is Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., and Meet The Lions is at 6:30 p.m. I hope to see you there!
