Dear LC, What an incredible Homecoming Week we had! It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces come together to celebrate. The spirit and pride of Leverett’s Chapel were on full display all week long! A huge shoutout to everyone involved in making this week so special. The pep rally was great, and it set the perfect tone for an outstanding weekend. Our football team came through with a big victory, and the volleyball game kept us all on the edge of our seats—what a nail-biter! Congratulations to Trent Wheat, our Homecoming King, and EmmaLeigh Stroman, our Homecoming Queen! Both of you truly represent the heart of our community. It was amazing to see all the Lion Spirit throughout the week, bringing us together as one. Additionally, I want to extend a warm thank you to the LC Exes Association for allowing me the opportunity to speak at your business meeting on Saturday. It’s always a privilege to connect with our alumni, and I look forward to continuing to build strong relationships between the school and the association. Together, we’re bridging the past, present, and future of Leverett's Chapel. Thank you again to everyone who made this week so memorable. Let’s keep the Lion pride alive! Sincerely, Matthew L. Everett Superintendent of Schools Leverett’s Chapel ISD

Thoughts and Prayers for Nathan Smith and the Apple Springs Community LC Community- Last Friday night, during a football game, a tragic incident occurred that has deeply affected the Apple Springs community. Nathan Smith, a sophomore and dedicated member of the Apple Springs Eagles football team, was seriously injured on the field. He is currently receiving care at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, Texas. Nathan’s strength and determination on the field have always inspired his teammates, and now, as he faces this challenge, he continues to inspire us all. His family, friends, and the entire Apple Springs community are standing by his side, offering love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. We ask everyone to keep Nathan and his family in their thoughts and prayers. The road to recovery is often long, but with the unwavering support of loved ones, the community, and those who care, we believe in Nathan’s strength to overcome this. Please send your love and support to his family and the Apple Springs community as they navigate this tough journey together. Let’s rally behind Nathan and his family, lifting them up with hope and faith. Fly High, Eagles! We are all rooting for Nathan.

Celebrating the Success of De'Marion Brown: A Proud Moment for Leverett's Chapel ISD LC Community- We are thrilled to celebrate the remarkable achievements of one of our own, former Leverett's Chapel student-athlete De'Marion Brown! De'Marion, now a standout first-year running back for Gustavus, has been making waves in the world of college football, earning a well-deserved spot on the D3football.com Team of the Week. In an incredible performance against UW-Stevens Point, De'Marion rushed 26 times for an astonishing 228 yards and three touchdowns, helping lead his team to a 31-10 victory. This amazing feat marks the eighth most rushing yards in a single game in Gustavus football history, and the most ever achieved by a freshman. His relentless drive, particularly his yards after contact, caught the attention of everyone, including Head Coach Peter Haugen, who praised De'Marion for his special runs and relentless effort. De'Marion's success continued in his next game, where he powered Gustavus to a 28-0 shutout victory over Augsburg. With 21 carries for 114 yards and another three touchdowns, he once again demonstrated his exceptional talent, marking two consecutive games with three rushing scores. Leverett's Chapel ISD is incredibly proud of De'Marion's achievements both on and off the field. His hard work, determination, and perseverance are a testament to the values we instill in all of our student-athletes. We look forward to seeing De'Marion continue to shine as he represents our district with pride. Congratulations, De'Marion! Your Leverett’s Chapel family is cheering you on every step of the way. Go Lions!
