One of my favorite things about the first day is standing at the top parking lot and greeting our students and parents as they arrive. Yesterday morning, I found myself thinking about how much some of our kids have grown just since May. It is amazing how quickly time passes. The first day of school always seems to be a reminder of that.
As parents, we all know how fast these years go. One minute they are walking into school for the first time, and before we know it, they are walking across the stage at graduation for the last time.
To our parents and families, thank you for entrusting LCISD with your babies, young and old. I never take that responsibility for granted. It is a tremendous honor to have the opportunity to teach them, encourage them, protect them, and help prepare them for wherever life takes them.
We are thankful for every student who walked through our doors yesterday morning, and we are excited about the year ahead.
