I am proud to recognize our student-athletes for their performance at the Area Track Meet last week and to celebrate those who have qualified for the Regional Meet. At the area level, a 4th-place finish or better advances to regionals.
On the girls' side, Laci Hayes earned a 3rd-place finish in the long jump and qualified for the Regional Meet. She also placed 3rd in the 100 hurdles and 4th in the 300 hurdles. Great job, Laci!! Khloe Clark finished 4th in the triple jump and advanced as well. Our 4x100-meter relay team of Laci Hayes, Deysi Perez, Magaly Chavez, and Brynleigh Seymour finished 5th!
For the boys, De’Waylon Brown earned a 2nd-place finish in the triple jump and qualified for the Regional Meet. Adrian Harrison placed 1st in the 800 meters, which is an outstanding accomplishment. Our relay teams did an outstanding job. The 4x100 relay team of Chris Smith, Carter Moore, and De’Waylon Brown finished 4th, while the 4x200 relay team of Chris Smith, Carter Moore, and De’Waylon Brown earned a 3rd-place finish. The 4x400 relay team of Adrian Harrison, David Salazar, Carter Moore, and De’Waylon Brown finished 2nd and qualified for the Regional Meet as well!
Great job by all of the Lady Lions and Lions. We are so proud of you!
The Regional Track Meet will be held May 1 and 2 at Waco Midway in Waco, Texas. We look forward to seeing our students compete at the next level.
