Our English II students turned a rainy day into a strong learning experience. Ms. Amaya’s class participated in a STAAR review activity designed as an escape room with an Easter egg hunt twist. Students worked through ten stations and solved problems to find answers hidden in eggs. Each group then created a challenge for the rest of the class. This added ownership and kept students fully engaged.
This activity went beyond fun. Students had to read closely and think critically. They applied what they have learned in preparation for STAAR. They worked together and took pride in their effort. I appreciate Ms. Amaya for creating a classroom experience that keeps students focused on learning. I also appreciate our students for their effort and positive attitude.
This is what it looks like when we stay focused on our purpose. We create classrooms where students are challenged and supported.
