Leverett’s Chapel Community, Due to the potential for overnight wintry weather, we will have a late start on Friday, January 10, 2025. Classes will begin at 10:00 a.m., and school bus routes will run approximately two hours later than their normal schedule. Please note the following: • Breakfast will not be served. • Lunch will follow the regular schedule. • Staff should report to campus by 9:30 a.m. We will continue monitoring the weather overnight. Leverett’s Chapel ISD Community, Out of an abundance of caution, Leverett’s Chapel ISD has decided to cancel school on Thursday, January 9, 2025, due to inclement wintry weather. All school-related activities scheduled for Thursday are also canceled. We recognize that many of our staff members travel significant distances to reach Leverett’s Chapel, and ensuring their safety—as well as that of our students—remains our top priority. We will continue to closely monitor weather conditions, and as of now, no decision has been made regarding classes on Friday, January 10, 2025. LC Community, I am thrilled to share some wonderful news that reflects the dedication, ambition, and achievement of our students. Three of our seniors have recently been accepted into outstanding universities, and we could not be more proud of their accomplishments. Ethan Kirk has earned admission to Texas A&M University, where he will join a storied tradition of academic excellence and become part of a vibrant campus community. Mackenzie Hayes will continue her academic journey at Stephen F. Austin State University, where her hard work and perseverance will undoubtedly lead her to future success. Jasmine Barber has been accepted to The University of Texas at Tyler, where she will have the opportunity to build upon her strong foundation here at Leverett’s Chapel ISD and pursue her aspirations. These students represent the best of what we strive for in our district—academic rigor, personal growth, and the resolve to achieve their goals. Their successes not only reflect their individual efforts, but also highlight the commitment of our dedicated teachers, supportive staff, and the families who have nurtured these students along the way. LC Community, I’d like to express my sincere thanks for the fantastic turnout and exceptional support you showed at last night’s Elementary Music Christmas Concert. Your presence brought the holiday spirit to life and made the evening a memorable experience. Before I go any further, I know I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the outstanding work of our new Elementary Music Teacher, Mr. Deveraux. The time, dedication, and creativity he invested this past month—leading our young students, selecting music, and rehearsing tirelessly—truly shone through in their remarkable performance. Mr. Deveraux, what an excellent job. We are blessed to have you at Leverett’s Chapel. Our students gave an outstanding performance, showcasing their hard work, enthusiasm, and growing confidence. The deadline to adopt an Angel and return unwrapped gifts to the school is Tuesday, December 10th. The Angel Tree is located outside Mrs. Thrash's office at the school. If adopting an Angel isn’t an option, we are also accepting monetary donations to help purchase gifts for the Angels. Your support means so much to these children and their families. A Tribute to Coach Daniel Worth Chadwick II It is with heartfelt sympathy and sincere admiration that we honor the memory of Coach Daniel “Dan” Chadwick, a man who made a profound impact on Leverett’s Chapel ISD and the lives of countless students and athletes. Coach Chadwick began his teaching and coaching career here, guiding the 1970 Varsity Football team to a regional championship and establishing a legacy of leadership, inspiration, and dedication. Though I never had the privilege of meeting Coach Chadwick personally, his contributions to our school and community remain a source of pride and admiration for all of us at Leverett’s Chapel. His commitment to education and his tireless support of his students and players remind us of the lasting influence exceptional educators and leaders can have. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. Thank you, Coach Chadwick, for your enduring legacy at Leverett’s Chapel. You will always be remembered with respect and gratitude. Mr. Everett
