Eduardo Espinosa, Class of 2024 (Valedictorian)

Eduardo has been involved in several sports and activities here at LC, including football, baseball, track, band and AG for four years, powerlifting and basketball for two years, and cross-country for one year. In his spare time, he enjoys playing music, socializing with friends and family, and playing sports. Eduardo's plans for the future involve completing his basics at Kilgore College and then pursuing a civil engineering degree at UT Tyler.

What do you feel was your biggest accomplishment during high school?

My biggest accomplishment in high school was making it to the regional finals my junior year alongside a team that was much more than a team, it was a family.

What Advice would you give your fellow underclassmen?

My advice to the underclassmen is to enjoy your time in high school because as people say, "high school goes by in a blink of an eye." This is very true because I remember being a freshman yesterday.

Jasmin Chavez, Class of 2024 (Salutatorian)

Jasmin has been an active participant in multiple sports and activities here at LC, including volleyball, basketball, track, cheer, band, powerlifting, and AG. She enjoys playing volleyball and softball with her family as a pastime. Jasmin's passion lies in pursuing a career as a diagnostic medical sonographer, specializing in pregnancies. She aspires to deliver news of a child's gender to excited parents and witness the joy on their faces. She acknowledges the challenges that come with this career, including the potential for negative news, but is determined to overcome them. Jasmine is committed to achieving her goals and making a real impact in the field.

What do you feel was your biggest accomplishment during high school?

Being at where I am right now with all the support of my family, friends and coaches, and being a nominee for athlete of the year my junior year.

What Advice would you give your fellow underclassmen?

To never give up and always push through. Play together for each other as a family. Do what you want for yourself and don’t let anyone tell you you can’t because only you know what your capable of.

De'Marion Brown, Class of 2024

De'Marion has played football, baseball and track for four years, powerlifting for three years, cross country and basketball for two years, and participated in AG for one year. In his spare time, he enjoys going to the gym to stay fit. His future plans include attending college and studying Kinesiology and Physical Therapy.

What do you feel was your biggest accomplishment during high school?

Becoming an inspiration to the younger kids and just being able to give them someone to look up to.

What Advice would you give your fellow underclassmen?

Just do you and have fun.

Eleana Dixon, Class of 2024

Eleana has been an active participant in various sports such as volleyball, cross country, basketball, and powerlifting for two years. Additionally, she has dedicated four years to track and band. When she's not competing, Eleana enjoys gaming. As she looks ahead, Eleana plans to pursue a biology major at Kilgore College before attending an optometry university to become an optometrist.

What do you feel was your biggest accomplishment during high school?

Making it to regionals with my girls in the 4x4 relay.

What Advice would you give your fellow underclassmen?

Try new things and don't let anyone make you feel like you aren't good enough to do things out of your comfort zone.

Justin Howard, Class of 2024

Justin has participated in AG for 4 years and has served as the football team's videographer for the last 2 years. Justin has a passion for bowling, history, and watching films. He intends to pursue his interest in these areas further by attending UT Tyler to pursue a degree in history and film.

What do you feel was your biggest accomplishment during high school?

Getting a head start in college and being close after this year to a associates degree.

Take every chance you get because it might be the only one you get.

Alec Vickers, Class of 2024

Alec has participated in football, track, baseball, band and AG for four years, as well as powerlifting for two years. In his spare time, Alec enjoys spending time with his friends. Going forward, he plans to work within the construction industry.

What do you feel was your biggest accomplishment during high school?

Making it to regionals in shotput and discus my freshman year.

What Advice would you give your fellow underclassmen?

Don't rush it, it goes by fast.

Jayden Pierson, Class of 2024

Jayden has participated in Volleyball, Track, Cheer, band, and Powerlifting for four years. Additionally, she has been a part of the Cross Country and Basketball teams, and AG for three years. Jayden has a passion for animal care and enjoys taking care of her dog, horses, and pig. She intends to pursue a degree in veterinary technology, but she is currently undecided on which college to attend.

What do you feel was your biggest accomplishment during high school?

Achieving State Powerlifting Qualification Twice.

What Advice would you give your fellow underclassmen?

Enjoy high school while you are there. You're going to blink twice and be standing in your cap and gown staring at your class, wondering where all the time went.

Isaira Avalos, Class of 2024

Isaira has been actively involved in track, band and powerlifting for four years, while playing volleyball and basketball for three years and participating in cross country for two years. During her free time, she likes going to the gym. Her future goals include attending college and earning a degree in graphic design.

What do you feel was your biggest accomplishment during high school?

Competing in State Powerlifting Championship.

What Advice would you give your fellow underclassmen?

Don't be afraid to branch out and try different things because if you don't, you're going to regret what you didn't do.

Josef Peery, Class of 2024

Joey has been involved in various sports like football, track, AG, and baseball for four years. He has also participated in cross country for three years and powerlifting for two years. When he's not busy with sports, he enjoys working out and embarking on adventures with his friends. Joey's ultimate goal is to become an entrepreneur and run his own business in the future.

What do you feel was your biggest accomplishment during high school?

Being self-employed while still in high school.

What Advice would you give your fellow underclassmen?

Seems like just yesterday I was a freshman. Don't blink. It'll be over before you know it.

Jackeline Avalos, Class of 2024

Jackeline has actively participated in volleyball, track, band and cheer for four years in addition to cross country, powerlifting for three years, and basketball for one year. Her hobbies include babysitting and shopping. Jackeline plans to attend TJC and pursue a degree in diagnostic medical sonography. She has a strong desire to create a loving and supportive family alongside her career goals. Balancing her professional aspirations with building a family may be a challenging journey, but she is ready to take it on.

What do you feel was your biggest accomplishment during high school?

Being involved in extracurricular activities and pushing myself to make good grades in high school is my biggest accomplishment. When I participate in extracurriculars, like volleyball, I feel a sense of purpose and fulfillment. It's where I can truly express myself, develop new skills, and build lifelong friendships. Alongside that, focusing on my grades is important to me because I believe that education is the key to unlocking my future opportunities. By challenging myself academically, I am setting a solid foundation for my dreams and goals. It's not always easy, but the feeling of accomplishment when I see my hard work pay off is truly amazing. I'm proud of how I've been able to balance my extracurricular activities with my dedication to my studies, and I can't wait to see what else I can achieve in the future!

What Advice would you give your fellow underclassmen?

I would say to make the most of your time in school. Don't be afraid to step up and take on leadership roles, as your contributions can make a big impact in smaller schools .And most importantly, don't forget to enjoy the journey and make lasting memories with your friends. High school is a unique time in your life, so embrace it fully and make the most of every moment!

Alvaro Mata, Class of 2024

Alvaro Mata participated in various extracurricular activities in high school, such as football for 2 years, cross country and band for 3 years, track for 2 years, and agriculture for 4 years. Alvaro's future aspirations involve attending college to pursue a career in welding.

What do you feel was your biggest accomplishment during high school?

Passing all my STAAR test!
